How to keep your feet warm while sailing

Having a cold head, feet or hands is never ideal while sailing. You'll soon be distracted by being cold and you'll lose your concentration making your sailing and racing less enjoyable.

In this article we are going to focus on some products we have to help keep your feet warm while sailing in colder conditions.

Magic Marine Thermo Socks

Made from flexible neoprene these sailing socks are made from a 2mm neoprene material.

In the construction the seams are glued and blind stutched helping to keep the cold water outside of the socks.

Magic Marine have also pre shaped the socks to ensure you have the best comfort for your feet and ankles.

As an additional benefit the polar lining on the inside helps keep your feet toasty warm with excellent comfort.

Zhik Superwarm Socks

Zhik Superwarm socks are slightly thicker being made from 3mm neoprene and are an extension of the famous Superwarm wetsuit range.

Zhik Superwarm sailing socks also feature superstretch neoprene but with a fast drying hydrobase inner lining. Add these two features together and they provide extreme thermal insulation, flexibility and warmth for you as a sailor in those colder conditions.

These superwarm socks are ideal to be worn under your boots, tuck them inside your wetsuit and they'll keep your feet dry because they are glued in construction.

I personally use these as my sock of choice, walking into cold water and not feeling the water running around your toes is brilliant. You know your feet are going to stay dry giving you the best chance of keeping warm.

Combine these socks with a Superwarm wetsuit and you'll be set for winter and colder sailing.
