Laser and the International Laser Class Association - (ILCA) have had some changes over the last few years and it has become a bit confusing for those not following. 

Laser and ILCA are essentially the same boat and same hull design still with three rig options, just with different names. In early 2019 the boat brand sail insignia changed from the Laser Starburst to the ILCA Logo and ILCA named boats started to roll out.

Laser Sailing Dinghies

Originally designed in 1969 the boat was initially designed as a car toppable sailing dinghy and its journey over the years led to the dinghy being the Olympic class of choice for both men and women.

The Laser has become the world's most popular sailing dinghy, you would be hard pushed to visit any dinghy sailing club across the World that doesn't have a Laser in their dinghy park.

The reason the Laser dinghy is popular is because of its flexibility, the three rig options allow sailors from 35kg up to fully grown adults to sail the same hull but with different sail variations. The rigs are very easy to swap and means you can grow with the boat or adjust the rig to the conditions to get your perfect sailing experience.

Whether you're looking for a boat to sail casually, or a boat to race competitively it's very likely the Laser will meet your needs.

Boats are held in stock ready to be delivered or collected from our base in Essex. There is usually a 1-2 week lead time on delivery from the point of order and payment.

You can collect your new boat from us in Essex, or we can provide you with a quotation to deliver the boat to your door or local sailing club.
