When it comes to upgrading and picking a new ratchet block there are many options you can choose from.
The Harken 57mm is one of the most popular ratchet blocks on the market with most new boats from Laser and RS coming new with this block. The Carbo design is lightweight at 85g and is durable with a 5-year warranty making it a great option for your boat. This fits up to 10mm rope so is compatible with most dinghies. The Allen 60mm is a relatively new block with a different design philosophy from the Harken block. The larger sheave allows up to 12mm rope so great for all sheets on most dinghy and keelboats. I did wonder how I would change the battery on my timer and this kit s the answer !. I race land yachts and do a two minute rolling start which can be rather mad it times so i need that battery !
