Zhik Long John Wetsuit Options

Zhik have been big supporters of the long john wetsuit since their humble beginnings in 2004. Also known as a skiff suit these days the long john is an excellent option for sailing.

The main advantage of using a long john wetsuit is the flexibility it brings with the other layers you can pair the wetsuit with. For example, on a hot day you could wear the long john and a rash vest. On a colder day you could wear the wetsuit, under layer, wetsuit top and spray top to keep the warmth in.

Long John Options

We have two variations of Zhik long john at Sailing Chandlery built for the different UK seasons, these are the Zhik Superwarm and Zhik Microfleece.

As you would imagine from the name the Zhik Superwarm is mainly for the colder months of the year where the Zhik Microfleece is a May to September wetsuit.

Superwarm

• 2-3mm thickness
• Wind and water repellent
• Glued and stitched to keep the water out
• Great for all year round use

Microfleece

• 1mm thickness
• Wind and water repellent
• Great for May to September UK conditions

Zhik X vs V

Both of these variations come with two options in terms of features, these are called the Zhik X and Zhik V ranges.

Zhik X wetsuits are the top of the range option and come with more features:

• Super stretch neoprene throughout for flexibility and movement
• Moisture wicking inner lining which takes sweat away from the body
• 4D knit protection for the backside and knee areas
• Padded knees
• Knife pocket
• Loo rip in the mens wetsuit
• Quick drying fleece inner so your wetsuit is dry the next day
• Silicone seals around leg to stop water flushing

Zhik V wetsuits come at a lower price point but with that features from the X are removed:

• Targeted stretch panels
• 4D knit protection for the backside and knee areas
• Padded knees
• Quick drying fleece inner so your wetsuit is dry the next day
